Towny allows players to create and manage their own towns and nations. With Towny, you can claim and protect land, govern your town with ranks and permissions, and engage in economic activities through town banks and taxes. Form alliances, participate in wars, and build a thriving community with fellow players, all while enjoying a structured and immersive multiplayer experience.
Costs and Economy
Very Important: You have to make sure your town bank has enough money to pay the daily upkeep cost or your town will fall into ruin. This is the same with a nation.
Getting Started
Once you start a town, you will become the mayor. You can then begin building and expanding your town. Residents can rent land from you to build their houses or shops. You can also charge non-residents to visit your town. Players who want to join a town must be invited by the mayor or a town assistant.

Creating and managing a town in Towny can be an exciting way to build a community and protect your land. Follow these steps to get started:
Before you can start a town, ensure you have enough in-game currency. It costs $30000 to start a town and the daily upkeep is $100 per day.
Find a suitable location for your town. Make sure it's in the wilderness and not already claimed by another player or town. Make sure there are no nearby claims so you can expand your town over time.
Once you have the required resources and location, you can create your town. Use the following command:
/town new [town name]
Replace [town name] with the desired name for your town. For example:
/town new Lakeview
Make sure you are standing in the area where you want to start your town when starting a town.
Now that your town is created, you need to claim land for it. Stand in the chunk (16x16 block area) you want to claim and use the following command:
/town claim
To claim additional chunks, move to the next chunk and repeat the command.
Tip: You can press F3 + G to toggle the chunk grid view so you can see the chunk borders.
Set up a spawn point where residents can teleport to. Stand at the desired location and use the command:
/town set spawn
Invite players to join your town. Use the following command to send an invitation to a player:
/town invite [player]
Replace [player] with the player's username. For example:
/town invite Jblack
Divide your town into plots that residents can claim and build on. You can sell or assign plots using the following commands:
Put a plot for sale:
/plot fs [price]
Replace [price] with the amount of in-game currency you want to sell the plot for.
Remove a plot from sale:
/plot nfs
Claim a plot:
/plot claim
Customize your town settings to suit your needs. Here are some useful commands:
Set taxes for residents:
/town set taxes [amount]
Toggle town options (e.g., PvP, mobs):
/town toggle [option]
Step 9: Manage Town Ranks and Permissions
Assign ranks to residents to give them specific permissions. Use the following commands:
Add a rank to a resident:
/town rank add [player] [rank]
Ranks include assistant and helper. Before assigning these ranks please make sure you understand the permissions they get!
Remove a rank from a resident:
/town rank remove [player] [rank]
Regularly check your town's status and finances. Use the following command to view your town's information:
/town
Please note: Make sure your town permissions are correct and you are aware of them. When your town is open it means anyone can join it. When your town is public, anyone can teleport to your town spawn. Ensure residents don't have build permissions in town areas - this can be checked in the town menu that can be opened with the /tm command.
By following these steps, you'll be well on your way to creating and managing a thriving town on SA Crafters.
Very Important: You have to make sure your town bank has enough money to pay the daily upkeep cost or your town will fall into ruin. This is the same with a nation.
